What Is Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)?
Zero Liquid Discharge refers to a process in which industrial wastewater is treated and reused without discharging any liquid waste outside the factory. Salts and other solids in the water are concentrated, evaporated, and crystallized for external disposal or reuse, achieving closed-loop water recycling.
Advantages of Zero Liquid Discharge
1→ Recover 90%–99% of wastewater for reuse in production
2→ Recover valuable solids such as salts and inorganics
3→ Greatly reduce freshwater consumption, easing water scarcity
4→ Reduce environmental risk and enhance ESG reputation
Technical Challenges & MOTIVA Solutions
MOTIVA uses patented FCM catalytic electrolysis + SAO₃ catalytic ozonation to remove organics before evaporation, ensuring proper salt crystallization and system stability. Membrane concentration can also be integrated to reduce load and operating cost.
MOTIVA ZLD Technical Pathways:
These flexible process routes ensure reliable performance across diverse wastewater types and help reduce total lifecycle costs.
Application Scenarios
Zero Liquid Discharge is widely used in petrochemical, coal chemical, pharmaceutical, waste incineration, and heavy industry wastewater projects with high salinity and toxicity.

Why Choose MOTIVA?

We deliver end-to-end zero liquid discharge projects—from water testing to pilot, engineering, and commissioning—with full control, patented technology, and a national reputation in complex wastewater treatment.
