Project DescriptionThis project is located in the Dagang Shanjiang Electroplating Industrial Park, Tianjin, generating approximately 300 m³/day of electroplating wastewater. The wastewater mainly includes acidic and alkaline wastewater, cyanide-containing wastewater, chromium-containing wastewater, nickel-plating wastewater, zinc-nickel wastewater, and cadmium-containing wastewater. The original treatment relied on chemical dosing and precipitation, which was costly, unstable, and unable to consistently meet the park’s wastewater plant standards for total nickel.Since April 2022, after adopting MOTIVA’s catalytic self-electrolysis (CSE) treatment process, the effluent quality has stabilized, with total nickel ≤0.05 mg/L. This meets Class I heavy metal limits specified in Table 2 of GB 21900-2008 “Electroplating Pollutant Discharge Standard”, and the Class II parameters such as COD₍Cr₎ and ammonia nitrogen comply with Tianjin Municipal Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard DB12/356-2018, indirect discharge Level III.
