| Project Description | A Vietnamese paper manufacturing company, established in 2007, currently operates a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 18,000 m³/day. The plant’s wastewater is characterized by high temperature, elevated suspended solids (SS), strong coloration, and the presence of macromolecular substances such as synthetic fibers and fiber fines. The existing treatment process consists of cooling, coagulation–sedimentation pretreatment, followed by EGSB anaerobic–aerobic biological treatment, with discharge first to an ecological lagoon and then to the environment. To comply with local environmental regulations and protect the surrounding ecosystem, the owner plans an effluent upgrade. A new advanced treatment system will be installed, consisting of a 15,000 m³/day sand filtration unit combined with ozone catalytic oxidation. The upgraded system is designed to achieve an influent COD ≤150 mg/L and effluent COD ≤50 mg/L, in compliance with the Vietnamese national industrial wastewater standards QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT and the pulp and paper industry wastewater regulations QCVN 12:2015/BTNMT. |
